One plant in 4.5 inch deep pot.
We came home with a couple of Japanese Indigo plants from Lucky Star Farm in Yellville last summer. After saving the seeds we are ready to share these cool plants with you!
Japanese indigo (Persicaria tinctoria, also called Polygonum tinctorium) has long been used to make indigo dye. It likely came to Japan from China, originally growing in Vietnam and southern China. Indigo-dyed textiles in Japan date back to the late 700s. The leaves are harvested and used for dyeing. Lucky Star does have workshops on occasion!
