Lemon Bee Balm
One plant in 4.5 inch deep pot
Also known as Bergamot. This is a perennial plant grown for its flower and leaves. The leaves have a spicy lemon flavor and are traditionally used for colds and congestion. The flowers are edible and can be used in salads, over fish, with fruit or as a garnish for drinks or dessert. An excellent nectar plant for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun/Part Shade
SOIL REQUIREMENTS: A moist, rich soil that is slightly acidic.
PLANT HEIGHT: 36-48"
PLANT SPACING: 12-18"
HARVEST: Starting the first year, leaves may be harvested. More leaves may be harvested each year as plant size increases. Mature plants, 3-4 years old, can be divided to make new plants.
