Uniform and slender upright leaves for fresh use.  Great in salads, dips, sauces, soups, stir-fries, and pizza. Also perfect as an addition to potato salad. Flavor is of mild, sweet onion.  Perennnial and Open Pollinated. Allium schoenoprasum

LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun/Part Shade

SOIL REQUIREMENTS: A fairly rich soil that is high in humus.

PLANT HEIGHT: 12-18 inches

PLANT SPACING: 2-8 inches

HARVEST: Harvest just as the flowers being to open. Cut back to within 4-5" above the ground.

Note: Mature chive clumps should be divided every 3 to 4 years.
