Sweet Orchid Pepper
Sweet Orchid Pepper
One plant in 4.5 inch deep pot.
Beautiful unique red peppers with a sweet taste. Orchid peppers grow very well in our region. They produce an abundant crop later than other peppers continuing to grow until frost. Grown at Wildland Gardens since 2013. Seeds came originally from Tom Frothingham (Little Rock Zoo).
Add open-pollinated. Good for seed saving.
LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun
PLANT SPACING: Transplant out after frost when the soil is warm and weather is settled. Ideal seedlings have buds, but no open flowers. Set plants 12-18" apart in rows 24-36" apart.
HARVEST: Pick the first peppers promptly when they reach full size and color to encourage further fruit set. Wash and hold at 45°F (7°C).
