Wildland Gardens Winter Squash

We’ve grown this winter squash for as long as I can remember. Always saving the seeds for future years. It’s a butternut type with an extra long neck. Of all the squash it’s done the best under pressure from squash bugs- that’s not to say it’s immune to their infestation, but it’s one tough plant. Great for winter storage. 

LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun

PLANT SPACING: 12-24 inches. It makes a long vine that can be trellised 

HARVEST: Wait until the skin hardens and darkens. Cut from vine leaving some stalk attached. 

SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Well-drained, fertile soil.
